This Privacy Policy explains how Tech For Fashion collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our challenge platform. We are operated from France and committed to your rights under GDPR.
Last updated: June 8, 2026
Who We Are
Tech For Fashion is a proof-of-work challenge platform operated from France. As the Data Controller for your personal information, we are responsible for how it is collected, stored, and used.
If you have any questions about this policy or wish to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@techforfashion.com.
What Data We Collect
When you register for a challenge, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your school or institution. We also collect the content of your challenge submission.
If you sign in using a social provider — Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter/X — we receive the basic profile information that provider shares with us, typically your name and email address.
We also collect anonymised technical data (pages visited, session duration, Core Web Vitals) through our analytics tool to understand how the platform is used.
Lawful Basis for Processing
Registration and challenge participation: we process your data on the basis of consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You provide your information voluntarily when you register. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting hello@techforfashion.com.
Analytics: we process anonymised usage data on the basis of legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), to improve the platform experience. This data cannot identify you individually.
Third-Party Processors
We work with the following third-party services that may process personal data on our behalf:
Supabase — database storage and authentication infrastructure, hosted in the EU.
Resend — transactional email delivery for welcome messages and challenge updates.
Vercel — website hosting and deployment infrastructure.
Stripe — payment processing for brand partnership inquiries. Talent participants do not make payments through the platform.
Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X — OAuth identity providers, used only if you choose to sign in via one of these services.
Each of these providers operates under their own privacy and security commitments and is bound by a data processing agreement where required by GDPR.
Data Retention
Registration and challenge submission data is retained for the duration of the active challenge cycle. Data is deleted or anonymised within 90 days of the cycle closing, unless you request earlier deletion.
If you request account and data deletion, we will action it within 30 days.
Analytics data is retained for 24 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
Cookies and Analytics
We use PostHog for product analytics. This tool collects anonymised data on page views, interactions, and performance metrics. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
Analytics data is used solely to improve platform usability and is not shared with any advertising network.
You can opt out of analytics data collection by contacting us at hello@techforfashion.com.
Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are based in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data: the right to access a copy of your data; the right to rectify inaccurate information; the right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"); the right to data portability; the right to restrict processing; and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@techforfashion.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL — Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés — the French data protection authority. Visit cnil.fr for details on how to do this.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves or legal requirements change. The date shown at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
