The challenge

Challenge context

Participants act as a Retail Excellence Analyst supporting the Retail Director of a fictional premium fashion brand. They receive fictional store-visit notes, timings, customer questions, employee responses and expected service standards. Their task is to transform these raw observations into a structured and actionable mystery client report.

Scenario

A mystery client visits a premium fashion boutique looking for an outfit for an important professional event. During the visit:

  • the boutique is moderately busy
  • one advisor welcomes the client
  • another employee becomes involved later
  • one requested size is unavailable
  • the client asks about materials, origin, alterations and care
  • the client raises a price objection
  • the advisor has an opportunity to recommend alternatives
  • the client leaves without purchasing

Participants must evaluate the quality of the experience, not only whether a sale was completed.
